Topbot.gg
The Discord bot list where every bot is tested by hand

About
Topbot.gg is a directory for Discord bots and servers. Server owners find, compare and invite bots. Developers list their bots, collect votes and see how their listing performs.
What sets it apart: every submitted bot is invited to a test server and checked by a person before it goes live. Does it come online? Do the advertised commands work? Are the requested permissions in proportion to what the bot actually does? A bot that asks for Administrator without a reason does not get through.
For server owners
- Instant search that forgives typos and finds German and English listings from either language
- Permissions explained in plain language before you invite
- Sort by votes this month, total votes, server count, newest or rating
- Reviews with star ratings and developer replies
- Live online status for listed bots
For developers
- Vote webhooks with HMAC signatures, retries and a delivery log, so you can reward voters inside your bot
- Public REST API with scoped keys: fetch bot data, check votes, post your server count
- Embeddable SVG badges for your website or README
- Dashboard with votes, views and invites over 7, 30 and 90 days
- A submission status you can always see, including queue position and reviewer feedback
Voting has a 12-hour cooldown enforced on the server, optional DM reminders and streaks. Suspicious votes still show in the total but do not move the ranking, so a top spot is hard to buy with alt accounts. A companion Discord app brings search and voting into Discord itself with /search, /bot and /vote.
The whole site runs in German and English, each under its own URL. Sponsored placements are always labelled and never take the first search result.

In the app space it's not like a shelf at a grocery store where people are looking at the Campbell soup and then the store brand soup and doing the math. People are coming in from ads and they don't necessarily have that frame of reference.
App users rarely comparison-shop on price — especially via paid acquisition funnels
The grocery-shelf mental model leads many founders to underprice defensively, assuming users are comparing options side by side. In paid acquisition channels users arrive at a single paywall with no visible competitor pricing — the relevant comparison is their own perception of value. This makes aggressive defensive discounting far less necessary than founders assume.
we were super lucky at some point to hire someone dedicated to monetization mik... he has really like this data mind... all experiment and this is working very well
One dedicated monetization person beats a committee
Mojo grew to $1M MRR with a team of 30, allocating just one person full-time to monetization, paywall, pricing, and onboarding experiments. That focus enabled quarterly iteration cycles: paywall position, then full redesign, then localization, then price testing. Spreading monetization across multiple part-time owners produces none of these results.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
