What is Launchdog?

Launchdog is a product launch board.

Launchdog is a weekly product launch board built for makers who work with AI agents. Instead of filling out yet another launch form, you connect Launchdog to your agent once over MCP and tell it to ship your listing.

Install with one command: claude mcp add --scope user --transport http launchdog https://launchdog.dev/mcp

Your agent gets five tools (whoami, update_product, list_launch_weeks, schedule_launch and get_badge_snippet), so it can write your listing, pick an open launch week, schedule the launch and grab your badge code without leaving the editor.

Each week has 50 launch spots, votes come from real people only, and launching is free with a badge or paid to skip the queue.

Bootstrapping
I remember reading um it was actually just the title of the book and it was about uh building a great company not a big company and that resonated... I live on this little Island 7 hours away from the next big city I have absolutely no interest and spending my days chasing VC money I just wanted to build a product that was really high quality made a dent in people's lives could bring people together

Build a great company, not a big one

"Growth at all costs" is the default narrative. The deliberate alternative: pick "great" as your axis instead of "big" and tune every decision to that — high-quality product, calm pace, profitable from year one, no VC, small team you actually enjoy. Milly built Generalist World to ~400 paid members from a 178-person island while keeping her walks and family time intact. The size cap is the feature, not the bug.

Retention
Use analytics tools like Superwall or like Revenue Cat. You can effectively track your cost per install your trial conversion rate your subscription rate your retention rate and most importantly your lifetime value the lifetime value of every customer that comes into your app because that is your northstar metric that is your golden metric.

Instrument Superwall And RevenueCat And Treat Lifetime Value As The Single North Star

Steven instruments PuffCount with Superwall and RevenueCat to track cost per install, trial conversion, subscription rate, and retention, but treats lifetime value as the single golden metric. TikTok tells you what acquisition costs; only LTV tells you what it's worth.

There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
