About

Most photo tools apply filters. HeroKit computes ink the way a press actually lays it down — four-plate CMYK separation at true screen angles (15°/75°/0°/45°), halftone dot/line/crosshatch screens, Risograph grain, and a from-scratch four-plate Newspaper simulation with genuine plate misregistration. Stack 30+ effects in any order and each one reacts to everything underneath it — nothing is a flat overlay.

Everything runs client-side: no uploads, no account needed to start. Free tier covers 3 saved Looks and standard export; Pro is a single $29 one-time unlock (no subscription) for 4K/8K export, WebP, unlimited Looks, and early access to new effects before they go free for everyone.

Real four-plate CMYK press simulation — not a CSS filter, actual per-plate halftone screening with authentic misregistration

  • 30+ stackable effects: halftone, CMYK separation, Risograph, Duotone, Silkscreen, Sumi-e ink wash, glitch, pixel sort, liquid glass, and more
  • A full dither lab — Bayer (2×2 to 16×16), Floyd–Steinberg, Atkinson, and an ASCII mode that rebuilds the image from type
  • Paint an Effect Mask directly on canvas and the entire stack obeys it — feathered, invertible, resolution-independent
  • Preview in Context — see your export as a real hero layout (nav, headline, CTAs) before you commit
  • Export up to 8K in PNG, JPG or WebP
  • 100% client-side — no uploads, nothing leaves your browser
  • One-time $29 Pro unlock, not a subscription

Audience
The focus of the post is a video demo, but wrap it in a use case or problem-solution framing — 'me or my friend was facing this problem so I built this feature to solve it. See, this is how it works. If you want to try, you can try it for 30 days for free. I'm just looking for feedback.' Reddit is a smart audience — they hate marketers, but they appreciate if you explain the reasoning.

Frame Reddit posts as 'I built this for X problem' — never as a product pitch

Every Reddit post leads with a problem story (why this feature was built) and ends with a soft 30-day free trial ask for feedback, not a sales pitch. This 'show don't tell' framing slips past Reddit's anti-marketing reflex and turned posts into the bulk of Elephas's first $3K MRR.

Mindset
I delayed jumping into the what I call arena to optimize for income and financial security the problems you get to solve when building and growing a software product these days are so highly leveraged and applicable to almost any online business Mastering them would be worth more than any income you can generate in a year or two

Choose Skill Leverage Over Income When Deciding What to Build Next

Ivan spent years running a profitable dev agency but recognized he was trading time for money with a hard ceiling on growth. He argues that the compounding value of learning to build and distribute software products outweighs the short-term safety of a high salary or service business. Choosing leverage over income — especially early — unlocks asymmetric upside.

There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
