SRM Helper
SRMIST notes, PYQs, syllabus and free study tools.
About
SRM Helper is a free study resource and tool site for SRMIST students. It collects notes, previous year question papers, syllabus pages and other study material in one searchable catalog, and adds three study calculators, with no student account required at any point.
The catalog is organised by semester and subject. Semesters 1 to 8 are listed with their subject counts, and each subject opens a hub page that shows which kinds of material are available for it, such as notes, PYQs, syllabus, CT papers or important topics. A preferred-semester setting keeps one semester one click away, and that choice is stored only in the current browser rather than in a student profile.
Search is built around what a student actually remembers. A subject name is enough, so the exact course code is not required; adding a term such as PYQ, syllabus, CT, a unit or a year narrows the result, and a semester name can be added when the same course appears in more than one part of the catalog. Results keep subjects, readable study material and study tools in separate groups, so a question paper never looks like a calculator.
Materials open as readable pages rather than a file viewer. Each page keeps the subject, semester, resource type, exam, year and update date together, uses real headings and section anchors, and can be read, copied or printed in the browser, with the table of contents staying out of the way on a phone. Every page ends with a short list of next steps from the same subject: the adjacent unit, another exam year, the syllabus or a relevant calculator.
Three calculators cover the common checks: a GPA calculator for courses in one semester, a CGPA calculator that combines semester GPAs with their credit totals, and an attendance calculator that compares classes conducted and attended against a target. Each tool shows the formula beside the result so the inputs can be checked before the number is trusted, and the values stay in the browser session instead of being sent to the site.
Everything is public by design: browsing, searching and calculating work without signing in, and original file locations or private storage details are kept out of the public pages.

if you are looking for an ID something that where you would just be uh totally free free of of competition from the big guys just just go for a Chrome extension doing some shady stuff with the private API from from website it's it's it's a good M you can do a lot of things
Sketchy Chrome extensions are one of the few moats indies have
Tapio scrapes LinkedIn data via a Chrome extension on top of the public API — the kind of gray-area move large companies legally can't ship. Thibault's ethical line: is the user's account at risk? If no, ship it. This is one of the few defensible moats a solo founder has against well-funded incumbents.
The way G was doing it was like taking photos of a Van Gogh painting on his desk all the time and actually we — I mean we were detecting the painting on his desk and we were like okay we can detect any kind of document like that and that's how we said okay maybe we will start doing a document scanning app.
The demo rig became the product — they were detecting paintings on a desk
Their original idea was to scan museum paintings, but the test rig on the co-founder's desk kept detecting any rectangular document. They followed the accidental capability instead of forcing the original vision — turning a dev-environment quirk into a 15-year business.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
