About
TradeTally is a trading journal built to help traders understand the behavior behind their results, not just the numbers. Import trades from major brokers, review performance across strategies and symbols, and uncover patterns that quietly shape your P&L.
With TradeTally Pro, traders get deeper behavioral analytics including revenge trading detection, overconfidence tracking, loss aversion analysis, trading personality insights, and real-time behavioral alerts. Pro also unlocks advanced performance metrics like MAE/MFE, Kelly Criterion, SQN, K-Ratio, health-to-performance correlations, AI trade insights, watchlists, price alerts, earnings tracking, API access, and trade blocking based on behavioral triggers.
TradeTally helps traders spot what is working, catch what is sabotaging them, and build a more disciplined process over time.

Building in public was huge for me — I shared my journey and development process across multiple platforms like X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads. That led to unexpected opportunities — being guest on podcasts, being featured on videos, or having good connections to other app developers.
Build in public on every platform — X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Threads in parallel
Sharing the journey authentically across X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Threads compounds into unexpected distribution. Wins, failures, and process posts open doors to podcasts, features, and peer networks that money can't buy early on.
As an engineer whenever you start a new product you kind of build the login screen first. One of the nice things about being in Apple and Google's walls is you actually don't really need to create an account to make a purchase because you're already signed into your Apple or Google account. The biggest win that we had was moving login to after the paywall. We were seeing 10% drop off by having login being the very first screen.
Move login AFTER the paywall — recovered 10% of the funnel
Engineers reflexively build the login screen first because they need it for dev, and then it stays in onboarding forever. Brett moved auth to AFTER the paywall (relying on Apple/Google identity to take the payment first), recovering the ~10% who otherwise bounced at a forced account-creation wall.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.

1I was selfishly making a product for myself, but then I realized it could be useful for others as well. I am a huge believer in open source and I utilize it at every opportunity.
