Tabisto· Chrome new tab extension
A calm, organized new tab for Chrome with workspaces, bookmarks, notes, reminders, and saved sessions.
What is Tabisto?
Tabisto is a chrome new tab extension.
Tabisto turns the default Chrome new tab into a workspace you actually want to land on. Group your bookmarks into workspaces for different projects or contexts — Work, Learn, Side Project — and switch between them instantly. Each workspace keeps its own visual bookmark layout, notes, reminders, and saved sessions, so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
The command palette (⌘K) lets you search bookmarks, jump to a workspace, open a saved session, or trigger any action without leaving the keyboard. Notes live right next to your bookmarks, so quick thoughts and links to share end up in the same place. Reminders nudge you on the new tab itself — no separate to-do app needed. Sessions let you save the full set of open tabs as a named bundle, then restore them later in one click.
Tabisto is local-first and works fully offline. Cloud sync is opt-in, not required. Pick from a curated set of themes that make the new tab feel pleasant instead of empty.
Built for developers, founders, students, researchers, and anyone who lives in their browser and wants their links, notes, and context organized without spending an afternoon configuring a tool.

when customers find a product that reliably solves their specific problem in itself a very specific way well they don't jump ship towards a more generic implementation easily particularly when your customer are not technical people
Customer inertia beats technical equivalence
Non-technical buyers do not churn from a tool that already solves their exact problem in exchange for a slightly cheaper, slightly more generic alternative — even when the generic option is technically superior. The minute they paid you, they bought the right to stop thinking about it. Optimize for keeping the problem solved on your customer's terms; do not assume rational price-shopping behavior.
Freemium in my opinion in a direct-to-consumer business is probably the most complicated monetization strategy you can have — you've got to be really clear on thesis statement, really clear metrics, really know where to draw these lines.
Freemium is the most complicated monetisation strategy in direct-to-consumer
Freemium sounds simple — give something away free, charge for the rest — but in practice it demands constant discipline: which features belong behind the paywall, where to draw the free/paid line, and how to measure whether the free tier is converting or providing indefinite free value. V1 Sports found their freemium strategy had been deployed defensively rather than strategically, with a thesis statement nobody could reconstruct.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.

1Hey! I built Tabisto because every new-tab extension I tried felt like noise. I wanted a quiet place to land that still had my real workspaces, bookmarks, notes, and sessions. Try the command palette
