What is Vidmoat?

Vidmoat is a hosted AI video editor. Describe what you want in plain English, like "cut the silence, add captions, make it vertical". The built-in agent carries out the edit on a real multi-track timeline that you can review, adjust by hand, and render to MP4. Nothing to self-host: it runs in the browser, with desktop apps for Windows and Mac.

There are three ways to edit, all on the same projects, plan and credits. You can use the web editor, send a clip with a caption to @vidmoat_bot on Telegram, or connect an AI agent over MCP. Features include captions, silence and filler-word removal, auto-reframe for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and YouTube, background removal, color grading with LUTs, beat sync and audio ducking. There is a free Hobby plan, and paid plans start at $19/month.

Retention
You look a bit more deep and you realize oh a lot of people are putting the auto-renew off at the beginning and what they're doing is they're asking for a refund and then they're getting the offer — so you are actually like net negative.

Winback campaigns can go net-negative when users exploit the cancellation offer to grab a refund

A winback campaign that looks great on surface metrics can be destroying value underneath. When users learn that cancelling auto-renewal triggers a discount offer, some deliberately cancel, claim the offer, then request a refund — netting you nothing (or less). Always check refund and chargeback rates alongside win-back conversion before calling the campaign a success.

Distribution
If someone sees a TV ad it's a 50/50 chance that they're going to visit you on your app or on the web we can't figure out how to change that it's hit or miss so yeah we've optimized both for the App Stores and the app experience as well for a web experience.

TV Ads Drive 50/50 App vs. Web Visits — You Cannot Control It, So Optimize Both

Babbel's data shows that TV ad viewers split evenly between downloading the app and visiting the website — and there's no way to influence that split. Rather than fighting the behavior, Babbel built full funnels for both paths. The web path has a data advantage: no download barrier means earlier conversation and better attribution. Any app running offline ads needs both funnels operating at parity — ignoring web means throwing away half the traffic.

There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
