What is Video Transcriber?
Video Transcriber converts spoken words in video and audio into a searchable text transcript. You can upload an MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV file, paste a public link from supported platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Apple Podcasts, or record a short clip in the browser. Once transcription finishes, you can copy the text or export it as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, or CSV.
It suits people who work with recorded speech, including meeting and call recordings, interviews, podcasts, voice memos, lectures, and online courses. Speaker labels can help separate dialogue, and you can choose auto language detection or a source language across 200+ languages. After transcription, you can generate notes, key points, chapters, or a mind map, and use Ask AI on the same text.
The tool works on speech you already have rather than providing live captioning, and it does not join live meetings. Private, members-only, or login-walled media may not download. PDF transcript export and translation are not currently available.

Split Users From Customers to Unlock a Hidden Revenue Stream
Jordan's users (incarcerated people) can't pay, so he charged families on the outside instead. Separating who uses the product from who pays for it opened a market most builders would have dismissed as unbankable.
just pay back on the first order do whatever you humanly can to pay back on day zero because then you have no marketing payback time with Skylight with a hardware business you have the added benefit that we're selling a thing right so like a physical thing so we pay back every single order in the company's history has paid back on day zero
Hardware pays back on day zero, eliminating the VC payback problem
Because Skylight sells physical hardware, every marketing dollar generates same-day hardware revenue covering acquisition cost and eliminating the payback period that forces software-only subscription companies to raise venture capital. Michael generalizes this: find a way to generate upfront cash on day zero, whether through an annual plan, hardware sale, or setup fee, and the VC dependency disappears entirely. Day-zero payback is a bootstrapping superpower.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
