What is Video Ambient Light?
Video Ambient Light is a free browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that draws the colors of the playing video into a soft, full-page background. It works on YouTube, including watch pages, livestreams and Shorts, and also supports TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels. The original video stays sharp, and its layout and playback controls are left unchanged.
It is aimed at people who watch videos for long stretches, such as music videos, gaming streams and everyday viewing, as well as those who scroll through short portrait videos and want the empty space around them filled with color. No account is required, and the extension does not upload video. Video frames are displayed locally and settings are stored in browser storage.
What sets it apart is how the light is controlled. Users can adjust glow intensity, page ambience, softness, spread, saturation and frame rate, change UI transparency, and switch the effect on or off for each supported platform. Lowering the frame rate or brightness reduces drawing work, and background tabs stop drawing.

Don't say 'Please pay for my non-existing solution.' The better way is deliver as much value as you can and give them a 100% refundable deposit offer — say $500. The buyer gets full access to your product once it launches.
Refundable deposit framework collects real payment before product exists
Teemo outlines a four-step deposit framework as step four of their validation playbook. Rather than asking for a subscription to something that doesn't exist, framing payment as a refundable deposit lowers buyer resistance while still confirming real intent. They collected $500 before their first line of code was written.
Put more buy buttons on the internet. Lots of people build in silence for six months, have a wait list on a free signup, and nobody buys. People are too afraid to charge, too afraid to put up a real buy button. Me and my business partner combined — we have 30 plus failed projects before this. Get that failure out of the way as soon as possible.
Put more buy buttons on the internet — 30+ failed projects taught the only thing that mattered
Aayush's core mindset: only a real buy button reveals whether strangers will actually swipe a card — waitlists and free signups teach you nothing. He and his co-founder shipped 30+ failed projects before Elephas, and credits that fast-fail rhythm of real payment tests with everything that came after.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
