TidyRox
Booking, Kanban/Gantt boards and time tracking in one app
What is TidyRox?
Most freelancers handle client work in three steps: a client books, the work gets done, and the hours get counted. TidyRox puts all three in one web app. Step one is a public booking page with time slots you set manually and optional Stripe payments; there is no Google or Outlook sync. Step two happens on boards that can be viewed as Kanban, Gantt or a task hierarchy, with real-time collaboration, comments, attachments and a read-only link to share with clients. Step three is a floating timer, and on Pro, billable hours and Billing Export turn tracked time into PDF or CSV files. Note boards, My Day and habit tracking help you plan around the work, and AI helpers can draft tasks, propose subtasks and answer questions, with daily caps on Free. Teams of two can use Duo. Prices: Free with no card, Pro $10/month with a 30-day trial, Duo $15/month.

Concentrate demand on a single $99 anchor plan that captures most users
Roman runs three tiers but concentrates demand on a single $99 plan that offers unlimited high-intent leads, simplifying the choice and pushing willingness-to-pay toward a meaningful middle tier rather than a cheap entry plan.
I was embedded in all those self- teing communities that were just hungry and longing for mentorship and so I kind of already had one of the sites or at least access to one of the sites and so the second part was finding those mentors
Bring one side of the marketplace from a community you already serve
Two-sided cold starts are why most marketplaces die. Skip half the problem by entering with one side already pre-built — an audience, a Discord, a newsletter, or a community where you're a known voice. Dominic came from self-taught dev communities that already wanted mentorship, so he only had to manually sell mentors into the platform. If you can't bring one side, don't start the marketplace yet.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
