What is Paigam?

Paigam is a platform for creating interactive invitation websites for weddings and birthdays. Instead of sharing static images or PDFs, every invitation is published as a dedicated website that guests can revisit anytime. Invitations can include RSVP, event schedules, venue maps, photo galleries, countdowns, and other event details in one shareable link. Guests simply open the link on any phone to see a living invitation that updates whenever the host makes changes, rather than a flat image that gets lost in a chat thread. Paigam offers a curated collection of templates spanning different regional and cultural wedding traditions, alongside simpler birthday invitation designs. Hosts can pick a template, add names, dates, and venues, and publish a custom link in an afternoon. Paigam is designed to make invitations more useful for hosts and more convenient for guests while providing a fast, mobile-first experience. The company is bootstrapped and based in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.

What you charge for is things that break the rules of the game that if everybody were doing them it would ruin the experience across the ecosystem but if a few people were doing them you would generate revenue and it would create an honest balance a more honest balance in the ecosystem.

Paywall Design as Game Theory: Charge Only for Behaviors That Break the Ecosystem

Phil Schwarz describes Tinder's paywall philosophy as pure game theory: unlimited right swipes degrade match quality for everyone, so limiting free swipes and putting unlimited swipes behind a paywall simultaneously improves ecosystem health and generates revenue. Passport (location-change) worked the same way — fine for a few travelers, destructive if universal. This framework transfers to any two-sided or network-effect app: find behaviors that are fine at low frequency but harmful at scale, then monetize them.

We recently tested making the free trial optional instead of default and that was a very positive test for us… some people want to make sure they lock it in — they don't want to lose it — and then other people say I'm not sure, give me the free trial.

Making the Free Trial Optional Outperformed Making It the Default

Burner found that presenting the free trial as a choice outperformed forcing everyone through a trial. Users who already know they want the product convert immediately without friction; uncertain users still get the trial. Self-selection beats one-size-fits-all trial defaults.

There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
