MarketHQ
AI visibility + brand monitoring, in one
What is MarketHQ?
MarketHQ is an AI visibility and brand monitoring product at markethq.ai. It shows where buyers find your competitors instead of you, in AI answers, Reddit, news, blogs, social and developer communities, and turns each gap into a task with the source quote and link attached.
MarketHQ watches 14 kinds of sources. The free plan covers six: Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Dev.to, Lobsters, and news and blogs. Paid plans add Reddit, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Bluesky, Product Hunt, Perplexity search and the wider web. Paid plans also ask your buyers' questions to six AI assistants every week (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek) and record which brands they name.
Every paid plan includes the same features: labelled mentions, AI-answer share of voice, gap analysis, a ranked action plan, chat over your data, drafted replies, SEO briefs, keywords you can win, competitor pages you are missing, and competitor page-change monitoring. Every paid plan also includes a REST API and an MCP server with 16 tools, so coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor can list, claim and report on tasks. Paid plans differ only in how much they track.
MarketHQ is built for B2B SaaS and developer-tool teams: founders running go-to-market, marketing leads who need share of voice with proof, and agencies reporting to clients. The first check is free and needs no account or card.

we only have 500 spots available which made people want to take action faster when something's available so easily people don't want to buy it immediately so you need to add that incentive for people to go in and buy and also feel exclusive
Waitlist-only 500-spot launch creates urgency without public promotion
Cleo was never publicly listed — buyers had to be on the waitlist. By capping access to 500 spots the product felt scarce and exclusive, collapsing the typical consideration window. This manufacturing of urgency drove immediate purchases from subscribers who had been nurtured for weeks.
We did content first because for most of my other apps before we were just building and building without showing to user what we had and it always failed... it kind of just went viral. So we kind of knew that we had an idea that would work. So I kind of just built the app super quickly super MVP style.
Post Content Before You Build So The Market Validates The Idea For You
Louie's 10 prior apps failed because he built first and marketed last. With Glow Up he flipped it — pushed TikToks around the idea, watched them go viral, and only then sprinted to build an MVP, knowing distribution was already proven. Content-first turns the 'will anyone want this' question into a falsifiable test that costs nothing.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
