HVAC Load
HVAC load calculator: BTU/h, tons, ducts and a PDF
Productivity·Operations & Logistics
What is HVAC Load?
HVAC Load is an HVAC load calculator for contractors, installers and estimators who size systems for houses. Enter the floor area, the ZIP code and the year the house was built. You get the heating and cooling load in BTU/h and the size in tons. The year built fills in insulation, windows, air leakage and ducts, so you have a first number before any other question.
Then go as deep as the job needs. The load breakdown shows where the heat comes from: walls, windows, sun on the glass, air leaks and ducts. A what-if list shows how many BTU/h each fix would save. Add rooms to get the heat, the cool, the airflow and a round duct size for each one, or switch to ductless heads for a mini split. The equipment check tells you if the unit you plan to quote fits the load. For a heat pump it shows the balance point and the backup heat in kW. A fuel use check compares the result with last winter's fuel.
When you are done, make a two page PDF report with your logo, your company details and your client.
The web app is free in any browser, with no account and no limit on jobs. The math runs on your device, so after the first visit it works with no signal in an attic or a crawl space. Jobs stay on your device. Climate data covers about 1,200 US weather stations. iPhone and Android apps are coming soon.
Results are estimates in the style of ACCA Manual J. They do not replace a certified room by room design. HVAC Load is not affiliated with ACCA.

I got contracts from the second two uh I met with three so two and three gave me contracts one was still like I I need to understand the angle a little bit more and then that person was following Along on Instagram and saw like all I was like going to a lot of meetings and then they followed up... this is just like VCS like it's just hype and momentum and they don't want to miss something so it's all a game.
Pitch publishers like VCs — momentum closes the deal
Don't run a book/fundraise/distribution pitch sequentially. Stack the meetings tight and make the activity visible (LinkedIn, Instagram, whisper to people in the industry). Holdouts flip when they see other gatekeepers circling — the deal closes on visible momentum, not the merits of any single pitch.
subscriptions by themselves they're just a bit outdated in a sense that we're seeing kind of more and more brands offer some variation... BetterMe where they add on Pilates uh kind of different props and stuff like that when you get a subscription with them
Subscription-only is becoming outdated — hybrid models are rising
All 11 subscription experts independently named hybrid monetization as the top 2025 trend. BetterMe ships physical Pilates props alongside its digital subscription; AI apps layer usage-based credits on subscriptions to handle LLM cost variability; niche apps add brand partnerships; utility apps use ads as a subscription conversion driver. Subscription-only revenue is increasingly seen as leaving money on the table, especially when funding is tight.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
