FigureLane
Bookkeeping for small businesses, trades and freelancers: collect receipts by email, create invoices and download Excel or PDF reports.
What is FigureLane?
FigureLane is a bookkeeping tool for small businesses, trades and freelancers. You can create invoices, mark them paid when payment arrives, and collect receipts and invoices by forwarding supplier emails to a private collection address. Documents are kept together in a workspace organised by month, where you can check dates, amounts, categories and business use against the original before the figures go into a report.
The product is aimed at freelancers and sole traders running a service business, such as consultants, designers and developers, as well as solopreneurs and small businesses that want to prepare records for themselves or their accountant. Free invoice templates are offered for construction, cleaning, electrical, HVAC and plumbing work.
Reports can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet, a PDF report, CSV, or a complete ZIP pack that includes the original documents. An MCP server option lets you search records and prepare reports with a supported MCP client, with proposed changes approved inside FigureLane. A free sample includes 10 uploads in total with no card required, and paid Starter and Pro plans are listed with monthly upload and storage allowances.

The burden of experience is what blocks seasoned founders, not lack of ability
Twenty-something Twitter "brand gurus" sound confident because they have nothing to lose — no decades of behind-the-scenes work, no complex social network, no professional reputation at stake. Seasoned founders freeze for the opposite reason: there's genuinely more downside if a post lands badly. Recognize that the fear isn't weakness, it's a rational tax on accumulated reputation — and the way through it is calibrating how much that tax actually costs (almost nothing) versus how much the audience-building actually pays.
they will buy an app or a business right a subscription business and they will fire 97% of those employees within the first month and just think about that concept right effectively they're not shutting down the business they're just lifting the business off whatever infrastructure and team was done and they're putting it onto their existing team.
Bending Spoons runs 600 people across a growing portfolio — that's operational leverage tech has never seen
Crowley breaks down the Bending Spoons playbook as extreme operational leverage: a fixed elite team of ~600 runs an ever-growing portfolio by applying shared infrastructure, pricing expertise, and marketing systems to each acquisition. The 97% staff reduction isn't business destruction — it's elimination of redundant overhead. The surviving business runs leaner with more resources than it had before.
There's a play for whatever you're stuck on.
